Good analysis Cougar. I called for him to be removed a while back and got a lot of responses from Base's wife and cronies. I think there were some posts from some basketball folks at BB as well. But, we all know its all the same folks anyway. Bottom line is that Base is just going through the motions and does not have his heart into the program. The AD at BB has no clue about the sport or what is really supposed to happen at a game. As you said though, that is a topic for another discussion altogether. I haven't been on this board since the last BB game since I was just so disgusted with the whole program.I thnk they had some grat talent that was diminished as you discussed in your post. SOme great talent that will not play football any more because they are so demoralized after their last season. A lot of talent going to small schools because Base will not promote them. A lot of great talent that is not used during the season if they are not the "it" person chosen by Base. A lot of scholarships that are not awarded because Base will not showcase all the talent,he can only focus on one person on the team and builds everything else around them. I can go on and on but I think you get the picture. A once proud program could now possibly struggle against Dixie. Nothing against Dixie's program, I think those kids have come a long way with good coaching and them putting their hearts into it. Bottom line is Cougar, its going to take a couple of more losing seasons before the right folks start speaking out.In the mean time get used to missed blocks, missed tackles, run right run left, run up the middle (that will confuse them) and then punt.
Good luck to you son.

You would have to think that they would be happy to pick up points for beating WC? My son plays for West Carrollton, & I see them boys work hard all summer for people to talk about them like this. It's not their fault that only 40 kids come out for the football team every year, but atleast they work hard, unlike some other teams.
I was expecting this type of comment from someone sooner or later. These young kids don't owe these schools a darn thing this is all part of the business, you win some and you lose some. Tiller's reaction shows that he is not professional and is probably the reason behind the decline of the program.
You think Purdue or Penn State would have kept up their end of the bargain if one of these you men got hurt ? Do you think they would have kept up their end up the bargain if these young men had a mediocre season and someone better approached them and said that they wanted to attend that school ? I have played college sports and know these schools have screwed up many athletic careers of young men and women based on broken promises but it is all part of the business, so if a kid decides at that last minute he or she does not want to attend your program " GET OVER IT ". Hell there are probably a few players on each roster of Purdue and Penn State that were promised they be able to start, and they would be able to play the position they wanted but they are stuck on the bench. You seen how UC did Britt they wanted him and then all of a sudden there was a lack of interest after they had signed him with a letter of intent, but hey thats all part of the business. In closing Trotwood does not deserve that and you are pretty silly if you feel the school deserves the national black eye it received.

I can give you a few good reasons why, the main one being that WC is too damn big for the conference.

Most of the SWBL wants Bellbrook out for the same reason...why add bigger schools when you don't have the big-fish that are currently in there?

The SWBL voting NO to West Carrollton

After watching WC win its first tourney game in almost 20 years, I hear that the elitists of the SWBL voted no on WC joining. Can anyone give a good reason why? I think it has more to do with us having too much color (just so you know I am white) at our school than it has to do with our sports programs. I mean WC isn't going to come in and dominate any sport . I have a feeling I already know 3 of the teams that vote no Bellbrook, Oakwood, and Valley View, but who was the other ones. I believe they needed more than 3 to keep us out. I would love to say more but I think DDN would ban me.

I have no problem with a student athlete changing his mind about which school to attend but in both instances with Trotwood, to state to the schools (Purdue and Penn State) the day before signing that they were still committed to them and then sign with Michigan without even a word to the other schools is bad.

I wonder if the column would have been worded the same if Ohio State had been the offended school and Tressel had been upset.

Quote:
The Southwestern Buckeye League may be poised to tap West Carrollton and Tippecanoe for upcoming expansion.

Those two schools have figured prominently in SWBL speculation and behind-the-scenes discussions. West Carrollton Athletic Director Jon Payne has worked feverishly on finding a home for his independent Pirates.

League principals will meet Wednesday and are expected to vote on expansion.

The SWBL athletic directors voted 11-3 in favor of expansion discussion and possibly adding two more schools. The vote is now in the hands of the principals who also need an 11-3 count.
